I work for a small company and McCain's policy is more supportive than Obama. I am repulsed by Barbara Striesand, Michael Moore and Susan Sarandon's politics - and they are huge supporters of Obama.
I hunt. I am religious. I guess I want to continue "clinging to guns and religion" to borrow Obama's words.
I admire McCain's service to his country, both in the armed forces and in the Senate. I admire Cindy McCain's service to those less fortunate.
McCain may not believe exactly the way I do - but he is willing to listen. He doesn't believe like Palin - but believes they can work together.
McCain seems solid. Yes, he makes mistakes. Yes, he loses his temper. But, he is willing to take a stand. He can't make a great speech - but he has made tough decisions and he will cast an unpopular vote.
Obama is a little too glossy, a little too smooth, a lot too arrogant.
I'd rather have the guy with the scars of battles and life.

Are you voting on McCain's resolute stand on "Conservative" issues? Doubt it ... if so you'd be voting for Paul or Barr.
OK Dan, here are two reasons why I will cast my vote for McCain/Palin:
1) My Israel:
Supporting Israel is important to me. I love Israel because God loves Israel. The candidate who supports Israel the most will likely get my vote. McCain supports Israel; more than Obama. Ron Paul does not support Israel.
2) My Wallet:
Being able to pay my bills and support my family is important to me. A high priority in my life is making sure I have money to do that, after taxes are taken out. Obama is the representative of the political party that wants to increase my taxes. McCain does not want to increase my taxes.

Dan, my friend, if I admit that you are at least partially right, does that mean I'm admitting that you are mostly wrong?

See, here's the nice part--he can be right about our motives on this one, and we're still not wrong. It's NOT wrong to vote strategically in any election.
I dislike Obama immensely for numerous reasons. None of which are the reasons the media would like to purport. (Or some on this forum.) If he and Hillary were somehow running against each other, I'd vote for her and be happy about it. I DO want to keep Obama out of the white house, and I hope most of the country agrees with me on The Big Day.

I would rather point out his hit and run thread. DanA got his answer from a lot of people who have very valid reasons for voting for McCain and against Obama.
DanA's premis is bogus and instead of taking his lumps he has just moved on, ignoring reality.

I heard, yesterday, that McCain's campaign is going to turn up the heat on Obama's "associations". I say it's about time.
