It's the long view that matters don't you think? Otherwise we cut off our nose to spite our face. I'm sure the AoG today would appreciate some of the 'spirit' and passion that many OP's and Latter Rain people bring to the table don't you think? Radicals are good for a group, even if they are hard to deal with sometimes. They bring something to the table that if excluded can too often change the dynamics of a group for the worse in the long haul. jmo.

To some, KH will forever have the legacy of being the man that got tv passed sent the UPCI to hell. Of course we all know he did not pass it, but the majority of those present at Tampa passed it. But that will be his legacy to some.

I Agree. This is still a hot topic for many even though pretty much the same content and worse is available in any Pastor's study via the WWW.

Agree, it is absolutely necessary to have a fringe at both ends to prevent stagnation within a group.

A very calculated risk if you ask me ... just a few more votes and the cons would have had free reign for decades to come.

I think the role KH had at Christian Life College has not been factored in this discussion thus far. As President ... he hired some of the movement's most divergent free thinkers ... and as the premiere college in the org especially in the last few years ... we are seeing that some of the liberalization of the org is being spearheaded by CLC alumni or others w/ ties to it.

Because of a doctrinal position taken by the voting members of the UPCI. Even the GS does not have the power to change the vote of the constituency. It happened while KH was the GS but he didn't do it.

You're technically correct.

But the issue never would have been presented as many times as it was if NU were still in office.

Perhaps not. I actually think it would have only because it was being pushed to the forefront by it's proponents. Had it not been dealt with then many, many more would have left the organization IMO.

Bro, pardon my ignorance.

Why do you think more would have left?

I think there was a groundswell of men that wanted the issue dealt with as it was considered heresy. Had it been allowed to remain I think we would have seen a significant departure of those who would not be aligned with this type of error. I could be wrong on that but I well remember the conversations about the issue.
