That doesn't mean they get the most airtime, but I think they're adequately represented--enough to call this the "Apostolic Friends Forum."

Now, if you only define Apostolic by those who hold to certain standards of dress--well, then you do have a problem. I think Apostolic is based on core doctrines regarding the identity of God and what constitutes salvation. Not sleeve length or whether someone wears open-toed shoes.

I do believe that Apostolic encompasses conservatism, in that we should interpret scriptures conservatively--as close to the original meaning as possible, without broad interpretations and expansion. A simple, face value approach.

I would venture to say a VERY high percentage do. Perhaps 10% do not - and they can be quite vocal at times, so it could appear to be more.

Quite presumptuous ... you've substantiated the monastic cloistering how?

I spent most of my teen years in a UPC church, followed by another decade in one that had broken away from the mothership. Since moving to AZ we have been attending a large church loosely associated with the AoG here in East Mesa, just South of Red Mountain.

In the computer world (which I believe you are heavily invested in if I remember fight) we call it "not being able to put the genii back in the bottle".

Granted, that saying is usually brought up when talking about file sharing.

The prior owners of AFF are UPC ministers who left to form their own forum...Just Preachers, and evidently would not allow many of the other more liberal ministers on this forum to join or quickly banned them once their identities were known. IOW, they cloistered themselves.

Interesting reading in threads around January to February 2008.

I would say most do. I don't and I feel like a minority. (But I am not crying about my minority status. )
