I think it hasn't gone away because of the issues he is pushing with rapidity - push it in, hurry, hurry, hurry, his past and present associations that people think the American people have NOT paid attention to. Just a whole lot of elements that hover over his head. That's why I think it's not going away.
On an aside note - I read a very uplifting article about Utah and it's health insurance program that took TIME to develop and thus far looks like a great plan. Perhaps Obama should look at it.

As I said in a previous post, I think conspiracies that people believe tend to line up with their personal feelings. That is probably why a higher than average number of people on here believe that he is not a citizen.
I have no idea why Helen Thomas brought it up. Unless she has some type of evidence that we do not however, it is of little consequence. In light of all the information from both sides of the discussion, it leans much more heavily on him being a natural US citizen, with that being verified by the State of Hawaii again.
