If you really believe that, then you must not believe there is any need for reform since the private insurance companies are all doing such a great job and their competition is equaling cheap healthcare for all of us.
The "private system" is driving more and more people to the uninsured lines because of astronomical premiums and rationing the care of the people they insure.
What planet are you on?

Mike, GOVERNMENT restrictions prevent competition! Simply remove the laws against healthcare provided across state lines and you will see a lot of prices drop! Competition always is the great equalizer!
You think the government is "hands off" with the healthcare system right now? Open the market! They have their hands in the insurance companies, the hospitals, the doctors, the drug companies, the tort lawyers, the HMOs, the corporate healthcare plans, etc. Remove the restrictions, the regulations, the laws that cause these industries to raise prices to pay for their expensive mandates.
Im on PLANET REALITY---you must be in FANTASY LAND if you think that the governement can do a better job than the private sector. Name one government service that the feds provide besides national security that they do better than the free market. I dare you to find ONE.
