Locking borders Christian?

We are by our own profession a Christian nation and most Apostolics have taken offense to the statements that our president has made saying otherwise...but as Christians is it right to live here in luxury while a nation right below us struggles to eat and stay alive?

Why not?
the rich man did that to Lazarus (or Lazareth as some of our preachers say)

Re: Locking borders Christian?

Dumb question. No one is stopping anyone from coming here legally but many of those coming here illegally are not coming to better themselves but for a free ride and to disrupt our country as our illegal president is doing. They have no love for this country but only want to make demands..

Joey,

What do you propose?

You DO realize there are people right in your own city that struggles to eat and stay alive, right?

Dumb question? I believe that the ones you are speaking of coming here for a free ride are very few...most immigrant Mexicans that i know are hard working family oriented people. I don't know how many immigrants you know personally but with your stereo typing it's probably not very many. We have Apostolic churches south of us as we do here...and for the record I'm not supporting illegal immigration but we are closing blinded eyes not to see the needs of people that are considered our neighbors. Its easy to point our fingers south as this country is destroying itself with its lack of morals.

Do you know how many legal immigrants are allowed into the U.S. every year? Do you know how long it takes to become a citizen of the U.S.?

Yes and they have avenues to receive of help. I'm not saying that this country needs to support anyone. I see the after effects of govt support as I drive past the housing projects with lifelong residents. But the immigration process is almost non existant and needs to be retooled. Its become a right/left debate and if you choose one oponion or another you are labeled a part of that group. The border issues are being ignored while big business undrpays those that do cross illegally and greases the pockets of our politicians with their contributions.

What about other nations? Where are we stated as being personally responsible for the health and welfare of others? We're blessed, no doubt about it. And I give God thanks for His blessings. But at no time would I apologize for where I am or what I have just because someone in another nation is less fortunate.

We aren't personally responsible for anyone's health and welfare except the freeloaders we have here that are able to work but are on govt health and financial aid. Mostly our own citizens. The immigration process is nearly impossible and I know plenty of injustice that has been done to some who are crossing legally. It's an issue that needs to be addressed without all the propoganda thats being shoved at us from both sides. We as Christians often take the blinded eye approach because it touches our conservative thinking. I believe this Christian nation needs more of a Christian approach in dealing with this issue.
