DC Talk / Jesus Freak
I came across on this on Youtube today, hadn't heard it in years. This was a fairly seminal song/album for me when I was young. There wasn't a whole lot of mainstream Christian bands that had this kind of sound. I remember the controversy it caused, similar to Carman's "Who's in the House, J.C.!" song.
My parents didn't want me to listen to "Jesus Freak" because it had a rocky beat. Devious hellion that I was, I told them I was going to buy the cassette single of it (did I just date myself? lol) because the B-side had "I Wish We'd all Been Ready" and I was only going to listen to that song. LOL It was half-true, I did like that song a lot, but really I wanted "Jesus Freak".
That's it, just a fun, non mosque-related thread for my walk down memory lane.

Man... I wish we'd all been ready was an OLD one. I always like the last song at the end when they took one of their songs and did it in a real old timey uppity church style. The reprise. LOL...
They did Jesus Freak, of course, for that album. It was great.

Yeah, and when listening to it now, it doesn't seem to have aged that much. Seems as decent of a song now as it was then.
