Very true, what degree were their iniquities? Unforgivable because they wouldn't repent.

Well? We hope for a breakthrough before the service is over.

I remember when God moved us from a church we were attending. All of it was so hurtful. We called some friends and they told us, "Get in your car and come over here. We will take care of you!"

Well, that first service I was so bottled up and angry I couldn't break through. We had lunch with the pastor and his wife. They were so kind. Been there and done that type of thing.

She said, "It's okay to tell God that you are angry. He already knows that you are!"

We had an awesome service that night. God used them to heal our hurt and show us a more merciful way of living for God. It was all God's will!
I read a story about a man who had just lost his wife. He was very hurt and upset with the Lord.

His pastor who had just lost his son called the man in to talk to him. The pastor told the man that he had to go home and begin to worship and praise the Lord.

The man went home and began to do what the pastor said. He said it took him a long time but that he finally broke through.

At the time that I read that story I had two large knots on my left arm. I was in a lot of pain. I'm quite sure that it was cancer. When I walked into the front room from my study the power of God hit me, and I began to worship God. He healed my arm that night.

I now have a message that I will preach sometime called, "There is healing in worship".

(Jam 5:14) Is any sick among you? let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord:
(Jam 5:15) And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him.

(I Co 11:29) For he that eateth and drinketh unworthily, eateth and drinketh damnation to himself, not discerning the Lord’s body.
(I Co 11:30) For this cause many are weak and sickly among you, and many sleep.
(I Co 11:31) For if we would judge ourselves, we should not be judged.
(I Co 11:32) But when we are judged, we are chastened of the Lord, that we should not be condemned with the world.

Aweseome! I remember that happening to me. I was up at 2:00 a.m. Suddenly I got mad. Put my hand on the lump and said, "I have evoked the name of Jesus on you. You have to listen!"

Healing in the name of Jesus. We have authority in His name.

Having said that I don't believe we can go around throwing that authority around. That is only reserved for the times He moves us to action.

I remember my kidneys bothering me. I planned to fast for three days. In the middle of the second day, during my prayer time, God spoke to me, "Lay your hands on your back and speak healing to your kidneys."

Following His will and His voice! We are powerful in HIM!

Re: Pushing or Praying?

Speaking from personal experience, I am glad that my pastor "pushed" me into yielding to the Spirit's promptings the night I received the Holy Ghost baptism. I was a shy 15 year old teenager. The Spirit was moving strongly in the service and people were standing to their feet singing, shouting, and dancing. I felt to dance, but had never done so in my life. The pastor was walking up the aisle and spoke to me, "Obey the Lord, David", he said. I was too scared to step out into the aisle. The pastor came back by and laid his hand on my shoulder and once again encouraged me to obey the Lord. Suddenly, I stepped into the aisle and began dancing. The moment I did, I began to speak in tongues, and eventually was slain in the Spirit and spoke in tongues for about two hours.
There are some people who will only break free from their self-consciousness and into a God consciousness when their is a high intensity of worship and encouraged by others.

On the other hand, I was preaching a camp meeting in Malaysia where a Chinese young woman sat in a chair and there was no music playing, no intense worship. I simply laid hands on her and she began to speak in tongues in a conversational style with very little emotion shown. She spoke in tongues for quite a long time. When she finished, another Chinese woman, who did not know her, asked her if she was from a certain location in China because she was speaking here native dialect. However, this woman was not from there and didn't know how to speak that language. This other lady had recorded what she was saying and it turned out that she had given a basic review of all I had spoken that week, even though that was her first night to be in attendance. I still have the transcript in my files. It was awesome!

So, IMHO, God meets people at the point of their need and in a manner that is needed to facilitate yielding to the control of the Holy Ghost. Sometimes God uses people to facilitate, and at other times He gets people "out of the way" to facilitate.

Sometimes all you can say about God's work is "COOOOL!!"
