For some it would be the woodshed!

Sometimes when people feel conviction it provokes that kind of reaction too. Something else to consider Ron.

Disobedience affects faith. We can't have confidence in praying or believing that our need will be met because we know that we're not meeting the conditions for Him to really truly "hear" us in the sense that He will answer.
In that case, we're really just wasting His time and ours.

I was thinking of this post as I waited for the thunderstorm to pass. You know Texas. Once here and then gone. lol
I believe what you said about disobedience affecting our faith and believing we cannot receive anything from Him, much less, forgiveness!
But, I don't believe he ever turns His ear away. He showed me, once, in Psalms 14:1 "The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God."
The only time you can be called a fool is if you denounce God. You can be unbelieving in forgiveness, blessings, be in condemnation, hurting, anger, etc., but you are only a fool when you say, "There is no God!"
Therefore, I don't believe He ever turns His ear from our cries. No matter what we have done, no matter what situation we are wrestling with, no matter how confused and abandoned we feel.

Sarah,
I'm sorry I missed this post! Amen! Yes!!! I have done that during song service. It's just too powerful and personal on some levels. It's just you and Him in a crowd!

Missed this one too and a very important question!
Well? We hope for a breakthrough before the service is over.
I remember when God moved us from a church we were attending. All of it was so hurtful. We called some friends and they told us, "Get in your car and come over here. We will take care of you!"
Well, that first service I was so bottled up and angry I couldn't break through. We had lunch with the pastor and his wife. They were so kind. Been there and done that type of thing.
She said, "It's okay to tell God that you are angry. He already knows that you are!"
We had an awesome service that night. God used them to heal our hurt and show us a more merciful way of living for God. It was all God's will!

( Isa 59:1) Behold, the LORD’S hand is not shortened, that it cannot save; neither his ear heavy, that it cannot hear:
( Isa 59:2) But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid his face from you, that he will not hear.
