For me, who has typically been an addictive upgrader, I hesitated on Vista and am glad I exercised great restraint. I have Window XP Pro on my Mac and use it with VMWare Fusion. I only use it for programs that have no Mac equivalent or ones I don't want to upgrade.

I am using Vista 64-bit on my personal computer and LOVE it! I used XP Pro for 6 years prior after swearing I would NEVER stop using Windows 98/98 SE, which in turn I used for several years after swearing I would NEVER stop using Windows 3.1/3.11.
Before that I was a Commodore Amiga person and thought it would take over the world from the evil PC's!
