Dumb question. No one is stopping anyone from coming here legally but many of those coming here illegally are not coming to better themselves but for a free ride and to disrupt our country as our illegal president is doing. They have no love for this country but only want to make demands..
Hey Brilliance,
Our President is not illegal!
Get over it already!

We are by our own profession a Christian nation and most Apostolics have taken offense to the statements that our president has made saying otherwise...but as Christians is it right to live here in luxury while a nation right below us struggles to eat and stay alive?
It is not good to try to mix Christian morality and public policy towards another nation all together.
If God wanted Mexico to be America, He could have willed it so.
However, HE did not and we are who we are and where we are because of God's Grace.
Maybe they need a Revolution and a new country, founded by people who have a respect for God.

Its hard to respond to compliments but....were you stereotyping me because of some of my beliefs? I do this very simple thing of thinking for myself and refuse to be placed in a right/left, con/lib, or any other stereotype that is being placed on people today...thats the trouble with this country and its leaking into churches. I would guess my views are mostly conservative but that doesnt place me in a box. If we look at this issue seeing people as individuals we can't help but take a Christian approach to them...if we don't I worry about how Christian we really are.

Joey, I think this subject is complicated. And our government policies are run by law, not the Word of God. We can care about our neighbors, but we can't help everyone. We don't always take care of our own.

It is a very complicated issue and the law of the land is just that...as a crminal law it is very plain, but as a civil issue in legal immigration it is very complicated. I believe that needs to be reformed and allow an easier process not being made more difficult because of criminal law being broken. The Arizona law is frightening because there is no way to enforce this state law without stereotyping....many of the ones fitting that description being US citizens. The police already have authority to investigate farther on anyone being charged with a crime so what is the purpose of a state law? The constitution doesn't allow for profiling in any situation and this is insane when we can't profile terrorists, drug dealers, or any other issue but this one. The judgement in it all is an issue we as Christians need to look inside ourselves to form our own oponions and quit drinking the left/right Kool Aid.
Do you know how many legal immigrants are allowed into the U.S. every year? Do you know how long it takes to become a citizen of the U.S.?
I worked INS for a few years, so I know a lot of the arguments are plain wrong.
Amount of legal immigrants allow is right. Too many each year would
overload the system. There has to be a cutoff point. That may not seem fair to some, but it's what it is.
How long it takes depends on what status is being applied for. Becoming a citizen is a process - as it should be. But obtaining legal status is neither difficult nor is it overly expensive. The key word is legal status. Becoming a citizen is a long process, obtaining legal status is not.
I know we'll have to deal with some kind of amnesty, as much as I'm against it and hate it. It's the only way. What I cannot stand is illegal/legal migrants that come over here demanding we change our laws and everything to suit them, waving the mexican flag and calling for a revolution.
If they want a revolution, they should start in mexico. That's where the revolution needs to happen.
Well, what should the legal policy be? Should there be an annual maximum allowed? "Give me up to x thousand per year of your tired, your poor, your huddled not too massive masses"?
"Inasmuch as ye did it not to one of the least of these, ye did it not to me."

The Arizona law contains a mirror of US Law which dictates that non-citizens must carry papers at all times. The AZ law allows law enforcement to ask for those papers in certain circumstances, just as citizens must comply and show license and proof of insurance.
Before SB 1070 law enforcement could not ask for documentation or ask about legal status.
