If you scroll down to the very bottom of the page, there are links to a few more threads discussing this.
Yep, sure enough. I figured I couldn't be the first one, but for all us new people, it's a great discussion. There are still many who a greatly misinformed about it.

I didn't mean there was no need for this thread, I just thought you might enjoy reading those, too.

Oh yeah...I understood. I should have explained...last week a man in our church emailed me...he's new in his faith....and he had just had the outline done on a new tattoo. And of course, an idiot Christian who had no idea what he was talking about, made him read Leviticus. He emailed me frantic about what he should do because he was supposed to go the next day to have it finished. He has quite a few tattoos.
There's SO much misinformation out there and complete misuse of Leviticus on this subject. I wondered what folks here had to say and also wanted to start a discussion for those that may have suffered the condemnation of closed-minded Christians who don't know what they're talking about.

But they needn't worry. I suspect they are about to get "straightened" out!
The comments on this thread remind me of a Jimmy Buffett song:
Permanent Reminder Of A Temporary Feeling
She was no marine back from the Philippines
She was their pride and joy, their incarnation.
Her parents viewed the chief
With shock and disbelief
Looking for some other explanation.
The Indian on her back was poised for an attack.
She said 'a tattoo is a badge of validation'.
But the truth of the matter is far more revealing.
It's a permanent reminder of a temporary feeling.
