I knew he had the ring, we'd picked it out several days before...he came in and asked - I said yeah ((probably just about that enthused)) and he went back in the living room. ((I was disappointed that he didnt make a big deal about it))

That was before the 1st breakup. I've had 3 different engagement rings ROFL

All at his expense.

I returned one for cash and paid to get my car fixed...

actually I returned 2 for cash. I have my last one.

We finally got married - well, you can imagine what living together, in sin, will do for you......

we got married a week after our daughter was born.

Romantic huh???

But we started back to church the very next Sunday, Marleigh was dedicated at 2 weeks old - and we've not looked back since
How long have you been married?

We actually were on our way back to her house from a rally or fellowship meeting or something, when I pulled the car over into the parking lot of a Baptist church right by her parents' driveway.

I took her by the hand and said, "Will you marry me?"

She said, "Yes, I think I will."

I smooched her, and haven't let up since.

End of story.

Awesome! Congrats.

September, 1987 is when my husband proposed to me. He tried to surprise me, but I knew it was coming (although I didn't tell HIM that).

He took me out to dinner at an expensive (for us at the time) restaurant. During dinner, the waitress asked to see my ring (which had not yet been given to me - she was quite embarrassed). Yet, my soon-to-be hubby continued on with the evening as if he had no out-of-the-ordinary plans. Then we went back to his (& his parents') house where he proposed. I, of course & obviously, said YES! Then we kissed & hugged.

After that, we sat & watched a movie on TV... "The Terminator" was on... I kept looking at my ring & wanting to talk about it, but he just kept watching TV... I don't think he heard a WORD I said -- he's SUCH a romantic! LOL

We got married a year later - September 17, 1988. We now have three of THE best children in the world; a son - 15, a daughter - almost 12, and another daughter, 7.

The whole wagon was in the middle of a big hay throwing fight when I threw my coat over our heads and asked her to marry me.

We got hitched the next June. I was 20 and she was 17. She had a year of high school left. We were rednecks in love.

BTW, she wasn't pregnant.

I did get to hold her hand before we were married though.

We had our daughter two years later.

Everyone used to ask us how old she was, and then the next question would be "how long have you been married?"
It would make us so mad.
