I disagree. You can't turn it into something it isn't no matter what your beliefs are. Just because one has a belief, doesn't make it valid. If I refuse to drive a car because God made that oil and it's an abomination for us to burn it, does that make it a valid opinion? I think not.
He can regret it. That's up to him. But he can't put his "Temple" beliefs on other people.
