I know you posted later about your sugar being off when you wrote this, but I think for many, this is dead on truth. Too many people are 'shunned' because they ask questions that the leaders know cannot be answered biblically. They are cast out, or as is your case, sat down. If your church is such a fashion, that the ministry is untouchable, and the saints are considered somewhat lesser than those in authority, then you need to leave that church ASAP.
Legalism is death.
