Parkway hit the high point over 1,000 in the late 1990's but has really fallen off in attendance in recent years.

Incredible Pastor, people and growth, there.
Interesting. Who is the pastor?

"We did not wear uniforms. The lady workers dressed in the current fashions of the day, ...silks...satins...jewels or whatever they happened to possess. They were very smartly turned out, so that they made an impressive appearance on the streets where a large part of our work was conducted in the early years.

"It was not until long after, when former Holiness preachers had become part of us, that strict plainness of dress began to be taught.

"Although Entire Sanctification was preached at the beginning of the Movement, it was from a Wesleyan viewpoint, and had in it very little of the later Holiness Movement characteristics. Nothing was ever said about apparel, for everyone was so taken up with the Lord that mode of dress seemingly never occurred to any of us."

I knew Parkway was fairly big but not that big. I somehow have never heard of Calvary Tab in Madison. Thanks for the info!

Re: Christian Life Center Stockton Question

Here is a pic that I took with my phone when I visited CLC on Mother's Day this year. As you can see, the bottom is about 1/2 capacity and the balcony is mostly empty. I was told that Sunday night service is held in a different building as the Sunday morning service is their main event for the week.

For years Parkway won the fastest growing church awards. Probably about 1300 was the peak attendance. They might be at about half that now.

That would be consistent with anecdotal reports I have had outside of this thread that Sunday AM is the largest service and around 1200-1400. A large number of people but in a sanctuary that seats 5,000 does not look large.

What I don't know is how this compares to snapshots of the past. Say 5 years ago and then 10 years ago vs today.

The other consideration would be local daughter works. They could represent church growth not seen at the Mother church.

Re: Christian Life Center Stockton Question

FPC in Durham runs upward of 1000

FPC in North Little Rock runs around 2000

Neither are UPCi but Durham used to be.

North Little Rock is the largest Apostolic Church that I know of in the US.

I did not know a bout Durham. I know about NLR. I have driven by that beautiful building many times while on I40 but have never had an opportunity to be in service.

It is hard to find pics of NLR because I think they think a camera will capture your soul *but the sound company that installed their audio equipment when they built it had some pics on their site. Very beautiful traditional church. Great for the deep South and attracting conventional church goers.

* I am just kidding but they don't believe in using the internet so there is no church website with pics or for sure no video!
