That's asinine....being against illegal immigrants from Mexico but being ok with LEGAL immigrants from Mexico makes you a racist in "their" view....really it's no different than what Epley did here with the word reproibate. It's a matter of small minds not being able to have an intelligent conversation and resorting rather to emotional jabs in place of intelligent arguments

I would beg to differ with you my learned friend. Elder Epley never mentioned he was speaking about illegal aliens until he apologized today ... his original quote is quite clear at being directed at Spanish-speakers, in general.
If he was going to use this broad-brush language, even in jest, it is understandable that some of took great exception at what he said ... and should not be labeled as being "small minded" simply because they expressed digust.

The fact of the matter is - I, along with most on this forum and most in America and English speaking nations - do not read, speak or write in Hebrew or other languages. I don't care if the J was not invented until 1955 - it was invented before I was born and used in my teaching and vocabulary and I use it every day and so do you so who cares if there was NOT A J a thousand years ago????????????
I have seen multitudes saved, healed, delivered, baptized and filled with the Holy Ghost - All in the Wonderful Name of our Lord Jesus Christ and I will continue to use the Name that is above every name - JESUS!
Oh yeah - another thing - Everyone of you guys that start off on this Yaway - Yeshua - YAWH - deal - end up growing a long beard and acting crazy and preaching against the letter "J" and EVERY SINGLE ONE has a different pronunciation or spelling to your particular Y name. You don't speak Hebrew - You speak English - Use the translation of the Name in English. JESUS - NO OTHER NAME I KNOW!

No one has spoken against Jesus name anywhere on this thread or as far as I know anywhere on this board. Yet look what reactions! According to Atlanta Bishops logic a JEW would not be allowed to speak the name of Jesus. They would have to ONLY AND EXCLUSIVELY use the name in their OWN language which is YESHUA.
Although I did not initiate this thread it is very disappointing that nothing positive could be said about THE NAME the Angel Gabriel brought down from Heaven.
And Atlanta you most certainly DO NOT KNOW the heart of everyone that holds the original name in high esteem. Matter of fact I had a long beard at times before I knew the name of Yeshua. Right now contrary to your belief I have a SHORT BEARD! As far as being crazy I am a fool for Christ just as I have always been since the wonderful days of the Jesus Movement when I came to know him.

This being true why should forum members be offended if one would use the name Yeshua? Especially when the one using it has not written anything contrary to someone else using Jesus?

They'll disqualify F.S. and H.G. on a technicallity...but give no thought to the fact the the "magic name" was really never spoken over them in baptism.
OK..I'm not serious here....and i don't think God is that "serious" either, that He would disqualify your baptism on a technicallity.

There we go trying to put God into a context as man.
Unless he said in his word that the n ame spoken over him in baptism is not really important, I wouldn't want to stand and speak for God.
The Apostles and the Early Church baptised in the Name of Jesus, I don't want to do otherwise.

speaking of the name above all... I get so annoyed when people chant the precious name "Jesus" over and over... what's up with that?
