Have you ever been rebuked by the Lord?

I was just thinking today something we could share about.

One day I walked in a church and a person was praying in shorts and I thought, "My what disrespect. " I stood there and watched them for a few moments and the Lord spoke to me, "At least they are praying you are criticizing …” My heart smote me and I fell and ask forgiveness from my lovely Lord.

Yes, Sis Alvear I have been rebuked by God many times.
Perhaps it is my hard headed Canadian nature that causes it.
I need more of death to self.

Thank goodness he does rebuke us!

I would say that if we have not been rebuked by the Lord, we are probably not talking to the Lord, or we would know His voice.

Is this when you feel about an inch tall after saying (or even thinking) something? And suddenly realize that your far worse then the person you were thinking ill of?
If that is the case, then yes.

Sister Alvear,
This reminds me of a story my mil tells me every now and then.

She walked into church and there was someone dressed in shorts sitting in the pew. She turned to the person next to her and said "Oh that person came to church in shorts!" the person responded "At least they came to church". What her friend said to her really convincted her heart that day.

Sister Alvear,

Not only have I been rebuked but I've been sufficiently spanked at times. The glory of being chastised of the Lord in that manner, however, is that God knows He can still find tenderness within.

Good thread.
