PAW and COGIC Merger?
Anybody hear a rumor about a merger between the COGIC and PAW?

And what would be the doctrinal position on baptism and the Godhead?

Let it be understood that Apostolic Friends Forum is an Apostolic Forum.
Apostolic is defined on AFF as:

  1. There is One God. This one God reveals Himself distinctly as Father, Son and Holy Ghost.
  2. The Son is God himself in a human form or "God manifested in the flesh" (1Tim 3:16)
  3. Every sinner must repent of their sins.
  4. That Jesus name baptism is the only biblical mode of water baptism.
  5. That the Holy Ghost is for today and is received by faith with the initial evidence of speaking in tongues.
  6. The saint will go on to strive to live a holy life, pleasing to God.

COGIC is Trinitarian. PAW is Oneness. COGIC baptizes in the Titles. PAW in Jesus name

With the "flirting" between the 2 of them I wouldn't be supprised if they merged and just didn't make issue over those things. PAW has had trinity preachers at speaking at their meetings.

Right but didn't they just move to stop that and that was why a major Bishop pulled out?

Prax, Bishop Noel Jones is the Program coridnator for the nightly services. this means he invites the speakers. with him leaving along with one of the wealthiest men in the city of chicago none other than Bishop Braizer, It may not be a problem anymore.

I think the chuck Ellis and Horace smith were also advocates of outside guest but Noel JOnes is the one who had the clout to bring these guest in.

The one guest that the PAW put up the biggest Protest was Paula white. In 2005, their national convention was held in Tampa and PW was scheduled as a guest but their was such an outcry against it they were forced to cancel her

Compromise! The average would be Twoness.

Not sure about baptism. How about "in the name of Jesus and his titles"?
