Matthew 7:22
Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?
OK, so who exactly is Jesus talking about here? Fake Christians? So-called "nominal" Christians? Luke-warm?
They sound more like Pentecostals, to me. I mean, who else would try to make that defense -- casing out devils, prophesying, doing wonderful works? Baptists? Roman Catholics? "Nominal" Christians, who go to church a couple times a year?
Now, I'm not saying Jesus will reject all Pentecostals, nor that he will accept any Baptists. Who knows? But, well, I guess I'm just sayin'.

Uh...yes. Lots of baptists believe they prophesy or cast out devils. Ever watch "The Exorcist"? You think those were Pentecostal priests?
Thats a pretty dumb post Timmy...But what else is new

Apostolic is defined on AFF as:
There is One God. This one God reveals Himself distinctly as Father, Son and Holy Ghost.
The Son is God himself in a human form or "God manifested in the flesh" (1Tim 3:16)
Every sinner must repent of their sins.
That Jesus name baptism is the only biblical mode of water baptism.
That the Holy Ghost is for today and is received by faith with the initial evidence of speaking in tongues.
The saint will go on to strive to live a holy life, pleasing to God.

Catholics, you mean? Yeah, forgot about them. Don't know about Baptists.
Anyway, who will be those believers who are rejected, even though they prophesied, cast out devils, and did miracles? Well, of course, Jesus actually said who they are: people who didn't do what he told them to do. Which was a lot. Jesus gave you a lot of work to do. Yep. Works.

They'e the "charismaticy" flakes out there who are more into sensational experiences than actually serving God in the fruit of the Spirit. lol. They won't carry their crosses to deny themselves. I see it as the "Prophetic movement" headed up in Redding, CA. Never saw anything so close to Matthew 7's warnings than that. You know, the dog-barkers with their fire tunnels and gold dust and feathers flying in the air. Check out their divorce statistics while you're at it. (Not saying all who are divorced are castaways).

Good to see a recent post from you, Sir.

I was always taught that these were the people who would otherwise be saved, except they were never baptized in Jesus Name.
It might have even been just a conclusion I came to since at one time I sincerely believed that there was a good chance that everyone else was lost because they were not baptized in Jesus Name.
