As Christians we should make sure not to vote for politicians supporting abortion, homosexuality, same sex marriages. Pastors should point this out to their flock.
...or cross-dressing, or coveting, or freedom of religion (it's a sin not to be Christian, after all), or forsaking church attendance, or any other sins. Yes?

We should choose Republicans that probably believe all of those things, but know enough to keep their mouths' shut in order to keep the Christian vote.

In regards to church attendance.....hey listen....there are a lot of "social club style" churches out there........ but seriously, lets make sure there will be no more socialists and commies running the White House!

Is God against socialism and communism?

Ah....but what the candidates say and what they actually do once elected do not always coincide.
Christians also have a way of denial when some unfavorable activity comes out in the press about their favorite candidate. I've heard my sister believe every alleged activity about Clinton from the press but deny every story and make excuses for the things Bush did that the press covered.
While I agree with your premise Dordrect I want to point out a few things I have observed.
The abortion issue is a political football. No president since abortion's inception has done a thing about stopping this heinous practice. The most recent law--the Partial Birth Abortion Ban--signed by President Bush in 2003 is so worded that abortionists can legally get around that law and continue to perform abortions on fetuses 20 weeks or older. Read a physician's careful examination of the wording of this bill here:
Hmm; a tax exempt 501c3, or...what would Jesus do, hmm...

Well amen (edit: like I said, when I see an Independent in office...), and I suggest that those who have lost their religion stay completely away from that, and vote with their hands, if you will.

I think this depends upon your definition of the community described in Acts; I would call it apolitical...communism? The problem is that the word "commie" is so laden...but I don't think God is too interested in the sounds that come out of our mouths when we attempt to attach a label to anything, anyway : )
I note communism is vociferously condemned by the Western...machine, for possibly the right reasons; communism without God is as dead as capitalism without Him.

yes; your unique way of producing fruit becomes a sin with this model.
There is a problem that I think needs to be redressed. The only 'rulers' that U.S. citizens actually have are the Constitution of the United States, and the various state constitutions. All citizens are to be bound to those only. Our politicians are not our learders, rulers, or governors. They have titles and responsiblities that are delegated to them by the people. This is because our fundamental laws state that the politicians and officials are servants who serve at the will of the people.
If we were running a company, would we retain people who deliberately transgressed company policies with blatant impunity? No. It is the same with the local, state, and federal government.
