Ah....but what the candidates say and what they actually do once elected do not always coincide.
Christians also have a way of denial when some unfavorable activity comes out in the press about their favorite candidate. I've heard my sister believe every alleged activity about Clinton from the press but deny every story and make excuses for the things Bush did that the press covered.
While I agree with your premise Dordrect I want to point out a few things I have observed.
The abortion issue is a political football. No president since abortion's inception has done a thing about stopping this heinous practice. The most recent law--the Partial Birth Abortion Ban--signed by President Bush in 2003 is so worded that abortionists can legally get around that law and continue to perform abortions on fetuses 20 weeks or older. Read a physician's careful examination of the wording of this bill here:

Homosexuality is the next political football for the next 40 years.
People should be civic minded enough to check out the candidates past records and not practice party partisan votes over individual past performances.
