I believe the angels can protect me when I cross a street
but I look both ways first and make sure there are no oncoming vehicles before I step off the curb.

Awesome. I take it your hedge of protection means you also have no use in keeping your money in a bank. A clear salad dressing jar is safe. You don't even need a coffee can.

We had a few cars burgled during a church service recently. Our news papers says that has been going on in several churches in the area.

We need to get back in the will of God so we can have the hedge of protection and even leave cars unlocked.

That makes sense. You believe they can, but you believe that they won't. (Perhaps unless you also take precautions?)

Sobering point.

I think maybe all of us do not think about our neighbor who is starving because we hardly know our neighbors in this day and age. But we do know that if our assembly doesn't have a benevolent ministry within the church, we can contribute to the local outreach?

Which begs the question...if our assembly has the fancy technology but no benevolent program to share what we have with those who have need, what are we doing sitting in that building?

I believe that I need to use common sense.

1) The top of whatever I'm sleeping next to seems to work fine.
2) Consider these manifestations, that cannot lie to you.
