Re: Housewives an endangered species?

The Proverbs 31 woman is not a meek little housewife. She runs the house, runs a business, finds favor with the community, and leaders acknowledge her excellence to her spouse.

I know that T2w. I know that there are a few who are caring. Yet I also know that there are some reading who do not care and are hostile. Not going to give them the chance to misunderstand a complicated situation.

I remember when I was single, "married with children" sister told me that "I had it made" because I had no children. My answer to her was that while I had no children, I still had to pay for rent, utilities, auto payments, gas etc on only my salary. Single life was not a care-free life.

She replied that she did not think about that.

There is always the option of roommates to share costs, but roommates usually have different lifestyles. I grew up frugal. We turned lights off when not in use. We turned heat down when we were not home. I had roommates before who never thought about how to save money and who would eat my food.

Then please, see the lie, and bail from that system asap. I made...about $400 cash last month; I live in a mansion, eat smoked elk whenever I want...and make it a point to thank God for it, when I have it, and when I don't. I am not special, or highly educated. I'm digging fence posts today, so I don't mean to imply that I'm living the life of Riley or anything; except in a sense.

How will you make it on your own?
This world is awfully big, girl this time you're all alone
But it's time you started living
It's time you let someone else do some giving

Love is all around, no need to waste it
You can have a town, why don't you take it
You're gonna make it after all
You're gonna make it after all

Even though I am not MTM, God saw me through all the rough times. I did accept His giving to me with all thankfulness of heart.

It was just some comment in the carnal she was making.

In other words...you do not play the societal step ladder game.

To be admired that someone understands that it isn't all in the manmade financial bracket one is in, but better to be in the God made "spiritual bracket" so that we can judge righteous judgment.

Re: Housewives an endangered species?

I am now a retired granma,....with a teeny-tiny little fixed income,...that I have to take a magnifying glass to see!!!!

Some years ago,...(up in the Ozarks) I was a full-time homemaker (not really by choice,...but because there just weren't hardly any jobs there). Not to mention there was only one car in the family,....and child care services were unheard of. Boy,.. did we have to scrape to survive! Thank goodness I was raised to live frugally. My Mom was born and raised in the mountains of Tennesee and Kentucy.....and taught me well to "Make-or-Make do". That philosophy is still serving me well today.

Well, that last part is actually kind of a problem, lol;
"Judge not..." and all. And I won't lie,
I was used to my conveniences; there was
an adjustment period.

But for whatever reason--being
hard-headed about it helped--
when I got determined to go my way
despite the initial...pain?, things started
to change.

Def a "count the cost" thing, for me anyway-
-I have no idea what will happen tomorrow,
in the sense most...Americans have, that security
that in all likelyhood, one will be sitting at such-and-such
a table, eating such-and-such a meal, sleeping in
such-and-such a place.
