Prayer in schools? Really??? What kind of prayer??? Some sterile generic prayer to appease all denominations and religions. Give me a break. It's not the schools job to lead our kids in prayer.

We need to get prayer back into our homes!

I have no idea what God's plan for America is. I don't think what happened in CT has anything to do with the "judgment of God" myself personally, but my opinion is just an opinion, who can know the mind of God? I certainly don't claim to.

I think what happened in CT is just a symptom of a disease that has been around in our world since Adam and Eve.... evil reigns in our world because of our choices... not because God is evil but because our human hearts are inherently evil without the blood of Jesus applied to them.

Oh, I agree with you Aquila... there are so many things wrong now in our world that putting prayer back in school would be like putting a Band-aid on a festering wound. If the underlying problem is not treated, then the "Band-Aid" of prayer in schools would certainly never touch the problem, but only make it worse.

My point was that when the hearts of the people of this nation had changed so drastically that they were willing to take God and prayer out of the schools, out of our judicial system, and out of our very hearts and lives, and homes, then that is when we began to see the massive amounts of violence in our country on a magnified level.

Taking prayer out of the schools was just a symptom of the festering disease of the heart.... so no.... you are not going to fix this problem just by simply changing things such as putting prayer back in schools.... but we have to go deeper, and turn our hearts as a nation back to our Creator and Saviour Christ.... will that ever happen?

Aquila, we do. It is a blessed, sacred wonderful time. I pray with my children each day before they leave for school. We spend time in prayer and bible study several times a week. It is the most wonderful thing that we do together as a family.

Oh yes, so true, indeed truer words have never been spoken. It takes a daily application, according to Paul, "dying daily to the flesh".... not just once in a lifetime.
