Yeah. It's making the claim of bashing. It's not bashing. (Not bashing Tebow, that is. )

BTW, I can believe that someone somewhere is bashing Tebow for stating he's a Christian. Sure. Some poeple hate Christians just for being Christians. But is it common in "the media" as some like to say? Is it common enough and public enough to merit a cartoon or a meme?!

I think this is a good example of how the media handles the issue.

ESPN Apologizes for Commentator's Christian Worldview on Homosexuality

While the left lectures Americans about the historic breakthrough made by NBA free agent Jason Collins in announcing his sexuality and calls for well-deserved tolerance, they are on full-out attack against ESPN commentator Chris Broussard for expressing his Christian views. And now ESPN has been forced to apologize.

And I think that RGIII Tweets it right in the overall assessment - "In a land of freedom we are held hostage by the tyranny of political correctness."

That's an example of "bashing" for expressing views on homosexuality. Not for someone stating that he is a Christian.

ESPN is apologizing for Broussard's Christian view and that is not bigoted? It's okay to talk about being gay, but it's not okay for anyone else to have an opinion? It simply is pushing the narrative that the Bible is irrelevant. It seems the left that touts being the most "tolerant" among us are the least "tolerant" of all.

You make some good points. But I think some are overstating the "bashing" that actually goes on. I still haven't seen an example in the media of bashing someone for stating that they are a Christian.

Well, the article I posted is a great example of the narrative that I see a lot of. I don't know how plainer that could be. I don't save all the stuff I read or view from CNN, MSNBC, etc. "Ring-Wing" is a pretty strong touted phrase being circulated. Anyone that holds a Christian worldview or a Constitutional Conservative is pretty much labeled "Right Wing". I really don't know how you miss any of that, Timmy.

Re: Barkley, Collins, Broussard, Gays and the NBA

You know, it didn't even bother me much when Carrie Prejean gave her opinion on marriage in the Miss USA contest. And I agree that the gay judge (his name escapes me, sorry) set her up for it and overreacted (way over!) to her response. It was uncalled for and very mean-spirited. He should have let it drop. But it's free speech! I can say "he shouldn't have said what he said" while at the same time defending his right to say it. And Carrie Prejean's right to say what she said.

And Carrie had the right to brag about what she said, too!

What did I miss? I think you missed my point! They are "bashing" (disagreeing with, apologizing for, whatever) specific views that certain Christians hold. NOT THAT THEY ARE CHRISTIANS! Some Christians don't hold those same views, I hope you know.
