The fallacy here is that it is appealing to emotion and is not based in fact. The fact is there have been multiple people with guns that have stopped crime cold. Based upon this logic we should disarm all law enforcement as well.

I'm not sure what your big nasty 'tude is all about, nor do I really care... You asked for my experiences and I gave an honest account of them... I lived where there were frequent 'drive-by' type shootings in my youth... just walking to school was pretty dangerous some days. It was bad enough to make my parents abandon their home and move to a rental in another town after their front windowns were shot out. I was a child and while I remember it well, clearly I was not a participant.
I believe I am qulified to carry a firearm and the state of Texas has agreed by issuing my CHL. If you don't like that, tough noogies.
#1 Obtaining a permit to carry concealed in the State of Texas requires a 10 hour Concealed Handgun License Certification Course which is outlined by the State Department of Public Safety and covers the use of force, gun safety, gun storage, dispute resolution and Texas laws regarding use of force as a defense and licensing requirements.
#2 Obtaining a permit to carry concealed in the State of Texas requires completion of the course, qualifying with a handgun at the range, and passing a 50 question test. The applicant then applies and pays a fee to the State which completes a background check and completes the issuance of the license.
#3 You need a basic knowledge of your handgun to qualify on the range, shooting center of mass a total of 50 rounds at a B27 target from 9 feet, 21 feet, and 45 feet.

Many teachers are already overworked, and now we are to add gun training and range practice to their workload? And are we to expect that with a million or more guns in classrooms that there will be no accidents? Ever? Arm even a few teachers at each school, and I bet you there will be 10 times or more deaths by accidental firings, or misses when there is an incident, than take-downs of assailants by teachers. At least 10 times.
Granted, there may be a deterrent factor, too. But still. Accidental deaths. Count on them.

a couple of things. Those versed in training know that misses are part of what happens.
Trianing is not about one shot one kill. It is about managing the situation, knowing what to do, and keeping the civilians safe.
The police officer did all of those things, and in doing so turned the attention of the guy with murderous intent, away from killing innocents and focused his attenion on the police officer, and himself.
One good man with a gun did his job well in this case.

The majority of my famliy are teachers. i have asked them this question.
To a man and a woman, they ALL say arming teachers who are properly trained and paid accordingly is a very very good thing.

I've thought long and hard about this issue and I actually could agree with a few "gun control" rules regarding the safety aspects of having multiple armed teachers and administrators on school grounds.
1) The gun must be on their person! Having it in a safe is far too much trouble in the event it is actually needed.
2) The gun must NOT have a magazine in it, but rather the magazine must also be on the carriers person, just not in the gun itself.
3) The gun must be a model with a magazine-disconnect feature which prevents it from firing without the mag locked and loaded, even when there is a bullet in the chamber.
While putting a teacher at a tactical disadvantage shout the need arise, the above precautions would guard against the inevitable "gun grabbing" from a young kid trying to be funny, or the occasional gun falling out of its holster, but still having the weapon available (without having to retrieve it from a safe) should a threat appear.

It funny I never thought about a gun falling out of a teachers holster. Show there is more to owning a pistol than I thought.
