Does anyone know how to explain this?

Sure! These organisations and movements are not actually churches, they are state incorporated 501(c)3 businesses masquerading as 'non profit' entities while telling the gullible public they are 'churches'. Furthermore, they are run by people who are either frauds using religion as a means of making money and carrying out their personal control fantasies, or they are run by false teachers and false prophets who are delusional and following seducing spirits and teachings of devils, or they are run by 'well meaning' but biblically illiterate and thus unqualified self-appointed 'elders' and 'leaders' perpetuating false doctrines and manmade traditions.

But, I thought these were "God's anointed!"?
When anyone pulls that card I feel like the old woman from The Holy Grail who said to King Arthur "Well, I didn't vote for you!".

Really? And I thought it might be the Tequila shots and the Cuban cigars!
Game One of the Stanley Cup between the Blackhawks and Bruins drew 6.358 million viewers! Game two manana!

Re: UPCI Affirmation Statement
So what are they supposed to affirm exactly? Seems like one can sign the agreement with a opt out clause

What are these articles? What are the standards?

I think it is the same as some companies, that require dress requirements for their employees because that is how they want the public to see them.
I think to a certain degree this church is the same way. Back in the day it was taught as H and H issues, but as people became more educated and studies the scriptures themselves, they found errors in the teachings.
Nothing wrong with wanting to have a certain degree of conformity as long as it is reasonable. IMO

Thank you, Esther. This is the best response I have received and I, wholeheartedly, agree with you!
