Check out the zayconfoods website... they are in all 48 states. They just might have a location close to you! I get enough meat from them 2-3 times a year, to where I don't have to buy meat anymore at the grocery store. This meat is incredible, fresh, and tastes far better than anything I've gotten at a grocery store.
But definitely, if you have a local place that offers organic meat, I would look into it. We eat venison too, although last fall, I don't know where the deer went, but they totally disappeared. We only got one deer for the winter meat supply.

The taste is really amazing. There is a difference of eating their fresh meat, as opposed to the meat that you can get in a grocery store.

You are absolutely right, there is a big difference in flavor with an animal just recently killed and one frozen, those who can not tell the difference have dead taste buds.

Yes, this is local.
My husband was skunked last year, first time in a long time! But I just inventoried the freezer...we should have enough until deer hunting season.
And what I meant was fresh vs frozen and not fresh organic vs grocery store.

Okay. Well, I have eaten the fresh meat, and there is a huge difference in taste, but, because it doesn't keep very long, it has to be packaged and frozen. But, even being frozen, thawed, and cooked, it still has a much better flavor than any meat I've purchased from the grocery store.
Glad you have enough venison to last until hunting season starts again - hard to believe it isn't far off now!

Frozen meat when thawed usually has more water content.

True. But at least if you freeze your fresh meat, you know it is as fresh as you can get it.
