Mary is the mother of Jesus.
Mary is the mother of God as pertaining to God's person. She is not the mother of God as pertaining to God in his divine nature.
This means, Mary is both the mother of God and not the mother of God.
The dual nature concept that allows one to explain how Jesus could be God (thus never praying) and pray to God is the same concept that allows Mary to be the Mother of God and not be the Mother of God at the same time. Basically anything that pertains to Jesus has to be answered with a yes and no. That's dual nature doctrine.
Did Jesus pray? Yes and no
Did Jesus thirst? Yes and no
Did Jesus die? Yes and no
Was Jesus born of Mary? Yes and no
Did Jesus know everything? Yes and no
