not necessarily. Running off could mean they have warrants and I have known illegals that speak better english than you AND I have known legal immigrants that you can barely understand after being here for 20 years still

Many dark skinned South Americans, Praxeas ... are a mix of indigenous blood, Spanish and/or African ... those whose coast are w/ the Caribbean especially have African roots ... Colombia, Venezuela ... even Peru.

Furthermore, there are many dark skinned Spaniards. Don't forget the Moors, from N. Africa populated the Iberian peninsula.

Hispanics from the Caribbean are probably the most mixed of the latinos ...

My grandfather from PR had roots from the Canary Islands, my grandma from PR was black ... and my mother's mom, from DR had French blood ... due to the brief transfer of Hispaniola ... to French hands.

I did have a very white red neck looking man with his white children come into my shop that spoke with a very strong Mexican accent (it was hard to understand him} and said he lived in Mexico.

This was strange to me.

Majority rule huh? Well gracias a Dios in 35 years the spanish speakers will be la mayoria.

I have had Mexicans play dumb about speaking English. They would ask my Mexican co worker if he spoke Spanish.

He would say; "My parents died and I was raised by white people."

He just could not speak spanish.

That right there is funny! I don't care who you are.
