They were out of the will of God ONLY because God told them to go out and multiply and fill the earth...in other words out of that God made many nations. Second, nobody is saying we should have only ONE langauge. They are saying there should be a COMMON language.
BTW you attempt fails when one realizes God made all the nations who themselves had a single common langauge.
What did the languages mean? Confusion. God never commands every nation to be confused.
