Americans are accommodating the Muslim religion...while they are taking Prayer, Jesus, Christmas, Ten commandments, etc... out of Schools and court rooms.

The clothing should fit the activity. God has commonsense.
In the 70's/80's worked for Kmart; opened boxes, stocked shelves, climbed ladders in stock area and on floor...and often it was not modest....but I wore the skirts as was required.(by UPC)
I'm in retail again, in a warehouse type store...handle freight, climb ladders,etc and I wear the unofficial work uniform of jeans and a knit shirt ; In summer a Tshirt, in winter a sweatshirt or sweater. And I'm much more modest as well as more comfortable for the tasks at hand.

I wonder what type of clothing men worked in, in Bible days, or fished in for that matter, and I wonder if God was embarrassed by their choices? Or if He even cares one way or the other what I wear to fish in? Goodness, I've been known to go in old rubber boots, my Dad's fishing hat, and my husband's oversized jacket. No fashion plate, but quite practical. Why should I care what other people think I look like, when I'm handling fish and worms and have dirt under my fingernails, and cricket guts everywhere?

I've never had God tell me I looked stupid.

Well Commonsense...you went and brought my post forward in this thread.

I just dropped back in for a look and see that I stirred up a hornets nest.

Sorry to my overly conservative friends on this board for my remarks.

I posted that I heard God say to ME . To me, not to all of Pentecost.

That I felt he told ME....that I (not you ) was embarasing him with my unbending following of rules.

We were not in mixed company, even yet we still wore long blue jeans long sleeves shirts to swim in.

The water soaked material felt like twenty pounds heavier and was just miserable to be in the hot sun when you got out of the water.

I can't believe we did this, and you'll be shocked at us, we did however take our shoes off. Nakid feet all over the place.

Any way....sorry to offend...I was just relating how God delt with ME

It's a matter of personal holiness. Our each and own differing opinoins of how God deals with us about modesty.

I didn't think it would be uncommon, there is no telling how many are actually here. They can go straight to California and have full benefits. The laws there do not classify "illegal" as being Mexican only.

I figure you to be somewhat a "middle of the road" kind of guy in most of these discussions. I guess I just didn't see Freeatlast's comment in the same light as others.

I've seen Ultra-Orthodox Jews do things in the water comprable to an ultra-con Pentecostal wearing jeans while water skiing. Muslim girls (adolescent and up) often can be seen even more covered up than our girls wearing jean skirts in the pool.

I guess the question some people would have is: "Do we really want to have that much in common with the Ultra-Orthodox Jews and Muslims?"

Don't know about "many reports" But for what's it worth when I was on the gang task force in Victoria it was discovered that many of the prison gangs (La Raza Unida, Mexican Mafia, Los Pistoleros etc) were switching from running drugs across the border to running people. Bigger profit margin, lesser penalty if caught. And yes they did smuggle across middle easterners (usually charging in the low six figures) no questions asked.
