I was a member of Calvary Tabernacle, Paul Mooney's church, for the first 16 years of my life, and I still have many family members there. My family said that in the last few weeks, Bro. Mooney has never even mentioned (from the pulpit or privately) whether or not he intended to be a candidate for GS. If those closest to him in his congregation had no clue, then I can imagine why he would have withdrawn his name.
Please God, somehow move that a strong Conservative win this position. Otherwise, let the whole org collapse and let a good conservative one rise in it's place.
Why do we need ANOTHER ultra-conservative organization? Join the WPF.

Everyone knew. Give me a break. His name was at the top of every short list.

How did they cause major disunity if they left? Don't you have to be in something to cause disunity?
They were in something, it was called the UPCI. They held summits leading up to their big move, forecasting the backsliding of the UPCI. Talking about a "preferred Apostolic future" and then contacted men throughout the UPCI to convince them to accept positions in their new club. DISUNITY at its finest. Had this happened at your church (an asst leaves and drags 10 families with him) you'd certainly see it that way.
Alas, I don't care. They left. They did what they think is best. Glad they are happier with their new organization. I have this bad idea that men can have disagreement on issues, but be held together with a common issue. Lust of power bro. Lust of power.
