Yes, if you ask according to his will and if you abide in His word.

Matthew 21:22 And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive.
What part of the word ALL is excepted?
I'm with ya, Mizpeh... indeed, why even waste one's time asking God for something, if you doubt that he will give it to you? Moreover, why waste God's time in doing such a thing when there is no faith to receive?
Seems pretty simple to me...... ask, believe & then receive! The only limitation comes from the one doing these things [that's you or I], and not from the One who gives.
Had do vote know on that one. You have any idea how long I have been asking for a few million bucks? Maybe I should take a lesson, everytime I ask for a bundle of money I just get broker and broker.
All that is probably good. I am guessing a Dodge Viper, Escalade SUV, huge oceanfront home with a serving staff and a yacht might not be part of God's plan for me.

Amen! Must be the reason Bro John Atkinson hasn't gotten that million bucks or Dodge Viper yet, wouldn't you agree? Seems like we too often allow our "own lusts" become the greater element of our asking.

Casn't be amiss... hey I would GLADLY give someone a ride to church in my dodge viper.
On a serious note you are correct. When we ask for "stuff" just because we want more "stuff", that is asking amiss and God isn't under any obligation to hand it over.
Sometimes we fall into the trap of misunderstanding what true riches are. When we understand those and ask... we receive. Everytime I believe.
