Oh, well that is easier to understand. You dislike homosexuality, and that projects into you not wanting homosexuals serving in the military. You should have just said that before instead of everything else. Maybe you did and I just missed it, lol.

Do you carry that desire over into political and governmental jobs, or is it just the military that you are concerned with?

Twisp,
You are being a knothead. LOL! My initial post gave stats that I agree with. It weakens our military in more ways than financial. You know what havoc is caused by it and you know the primary people who are contracting it and passing it around.

Now we are going back down the rabbit hole.

Heterosexual men can get HIV just as easily as homosexual men can. If HIV and its associated costs are the real reason you do not want homosexuals serving in the military, then it makes no sense to allow anyone that can contract HIV to serve in the military, based on your logic.

What "desire"?

strawman

Homosexuality is one of about 2 dozen paraphilias. Aberrant sexual urges ned to be treated.

No, they do not. Aids is transmitted more easily through Anal sex, which is primarily a gay issue.

Aids can be passed through other means, vaginal or oral sex, but it's primarily passed through anal sex. So, no, heterosexual men don't contract aids as easily. I'm sure you are not classifying a bi-sexual person as also heterosexual.

I wonder if I'm supposed to be abbreviating?

In other words, it seems that we are becoming comfortable to look the other way because we are in such a PC state of mind and I think that is has bled into the church. I mean, men are fearing to speak out against things, i.e. homosexuality, etc., for fear of being reported as a basher.

Now, I think you can speak against things in a right way. Fred Phelps would be an example of the wrong way and that pastor in Florida that wanted to burn the Koran. There are better ways of speaking against things.

Simply reading and explaining the scripture would be the more correct and calm way to do that.
I think elders should address the issues biblically. But I'm not going to walk around upset at the private things that everyone around me does. That's a lot of mental energy. I don't believe in looking the other way if asked about something sinful. I'm just not going to note and point out the infractions of a persons private life. Leave it to the elders to address through teaching and private counsel.

Right, but what are the repercussions handed down? Demerits, dock in pay?
Depends on the nature of the infraction. Could be demerits, dock in pay, re-assignment, or dismissal. Maybe the penalties should be increased in severity.
