Re: Survey About Doctrinal Beliefs
I hope I don't ramble on here...but I have observed some things while here on AFF that I can relate to, so here goes. I believe that there are many folks on here that were and maybe still are a part of what is termed "Traditional Apostolic" (That being all the statements of the first post from OP). In saying that, I also believe that there have been many here that have been hurt and wounded...not so much by the devil, but by there own apostolic kinsmen.
I realize that truth is truth regardless, but I also find it important to note that when truth is used violently, and manipulativley, it can sour the whole lump if you will. There are folks on here that have "gotten over" the hurt, but I believe there are others who are still in the ER. I have heard the basic tennants of ACTS 2:38 and have obeyed what I heard preached and taught. I thank God for my experience with Him and my brothers and Sisters. I have also sat in the same place and heard many other messages that were tethered to "truth", and at their core were designed to control not only what goes on in the four walls of the church, but also the four walls of the home. I have seen alot of lines crossed.
I have also seen Holiness "Standards lived to the tee, and the same folks be as gentle and loving as can be -AWESOME! On the other hand I have also seen folks walk it and talk it, and backslide totally. Much good...also much bad. That is life. When people get shaken to their core...they often re-examine the core. sometimes they find themselves remaining the same in beliefs and practices...sometimes they change. At the end of the day..God is still God and the truth is He knows the heart of the individual, it's my job to love people, not sit in the seat of judgement.
