Pharaisaical false Christianity is selective in what rules to obey, and seeks to obey as a form of salvation. As Prax pointed out, NITW points out the jewelry issue of Revelation, and not the clothing issue. The problem is, John is describing in his vision the harlot, and is not speaking out against what she wears.
Pharisaical false Christianity is humanism and Pelagianism run amuck, using God as a means to their desired end, and then using their own works as a means to attain salvation. It is really quite selfish in it, and not God glorifying.
