Referring to things like smoking and drugs that the bible does not specify is a ruse, I think. The goal is to get people to do things that are nowhere near the category of abusing their bodies with toxins. They are trying to get people to dress a certain way, for the most part. That is what all these sorts of threads are pointing to -- supporting standard keeping. No pants on women and no makeup, jewelry, etc. So do not use the smoking and drugs thing.
The bible gives common sense principles to abide by. regarding the undergirding spirit of standards that this thread is really about, God gave a principle that applies to every culture and generation in
Deut 22.:5. Men dress like men and women dress like women. He did not dictate what the mode should be because God was relying on culture to determine that. IOW, he mentioned nothing about pants. This is how the bible gives PRINCIPLES. The bible said to not abuse the body, too. That covers obvious abuses like smoking and drugs, etc. But it is abuse of the bible. speaking of abuse, to say the bible teaches pants on men alone unless the culture of the day generally prohibited pants on women. Let's not discard the basic common sense of biblical PRINCIPLES, nor confuse details into them that are not there..
