It's purpose is not to confirm nor deny science. But where science and the bible speak of the same things, and explain the same things, the bible is right.

Cubits versus millimeters is not the issue. Science is not about what units of measurements we use.

Or perhaps our interpretation of the bible is wrong. For instance, people thought they were interpreting the bible correctly when they assumed that the Sun orbited around the Earth and that in fact the Earth was the center of the visible Universe.
