While this has zero to do with the Sabbath it does have to do with the statement that all science has to be made to fit the bible. How accurate would our GPS system (or anything) be if the only unit of measurement we had was the distance from a mans elbow to his palm? The cubit.

Well, maybe if we standardized it on the King's forearm....

That is not what I meant by science has to fit the bible. I meant that where science conflicts with the bible, then that science is error. The bible is not a science book. It's purpose is not to confirm nor deny science. But where science and the bible speak of the same things, and explain the same things, the bible is right.

Cubits versus millimeters is not the issue. Science is not about what units of measurements we use.

Science is subjective. It changes all the time.
If the Bible and Science conflicts, then our understanding of one or the other is wrong.

Yeah. Why not? God can do anything... like make a giant pearl to form as a gate in the New Jerusalem, as dispenssationalists say.

Or perhaps our interpretation of the bible is wrong. For instance, people thought they were interpreting the bible correctly when they assumed that the Sun orbited around the Earth and that in fact the Earth was the center of the visible Universe.

THAT would be the only alternative, I think. People interpret the bible wrong all the time. But I am referring to what God actually intended us to understand in His Word, not what man may mistake it to mean.
