This Election Reminds Me
My FIL was a forman at a manufacturing plant in Memphis in the early 70's when the employees went on strike for better pay. They had formed a union and wanted the upper management and ownership to take less money and give it to them.
Management tried their best to convey to the workers that upper management was paid at a level required to keep them from bolting to another company for more money. There was no money to give them the raises they wanted! The workers continued to strike.
Finally, the company told the employees that if they didn't return to work soon, NOBODY would even have a job because the factory would be out of business and closed. The workers continued to strike anyways.
Guess what? The fool workers were out of jobs when the company was forced to close! They each had a job, but they voted themselves out of a job!
Our country may have voted itself into a deeper recession! I sure hope not!
