9 Provide neither gold, nor silver, nor brass in your purses,
10 Nor scrip for your journey, neither two coats, neither shoes, nor yet staves:
for the workman is worthy of his meat.

We did this, not because we do not have the right to such help, but in order to make ourselves a model for you to follow
Paul had the right to make his living from preaching, BUT he decided to continue his tent making job ALONGSIDE his preaching.
