As Jesus never does or says anything that has not been written - please refer to
Isaiah 53:10.
"Yet it pleased the Lord to bruise him; he hath put him to grief: when thou
shalt make his soul an offering for sin, he shall see his seed, he shall prolong his days, and the pleasure of the Lord shall prosper in his hand."
"Soul" in the Hebrew here is defined as " living being, life, self, person". He laid down mortality.
"Now to the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only God, be honor and glory forever and ever. Amen."
I Timothy 1:17
"He will swallow up death in victory; and the Lord God will wipe away tears from off all faces; and the rebuke of his people shall he take away from off all the earth: for the Lord hath spoken it.
9 And it shall be said in that day, Lo, this is our God; we have waited for him, and he will save us:
this is the Lord; we have waited for him, we will be glad and rejoice in his salvation." Isaiah 25:8-9
