No death of Christ on the cross is needed Goes right along with the Koran's version of Christ, but against the Bible's version of Christ. You done got yourself another Jesus.
Exactly, one may even start out with good intentions to read the Bible to find of its true teachings. But like Bart D Ehrman end up an atheist because of the kind of motor that was driving him through his studies. Because of the denomination he was raised in Bart only had that paradigm to view his research through. Therefore he ended up confusing himself. So to straighten out his confusion came up with a justification as to why what he was finding was flawed. Instead of looking further into his findings to understand how he was going off track, he only had his denominational flashlight and therefore when the light went out, so did he.

When we study we must use Sola Scriptura with the total understanding that the writers of the scripture absolutely understood what THEY were writing.

They weren't Hillbillies, Rubes, or Cave Dwelling Neanderthals. But highly educated with their own world, and their own culture. They had total understanding of the Greek, Aramaic, and Latin of their time, and culture. They knew how words were used in their time and culture. They understood the current events as well as past events. Therefore, if their documents would of been refuted it had to be refuted by those living in their time. It would serve us better to "PROPERLY" understand how "THEY" understood their world, and their culture, when we read and study the Bible.

The Bible wasn't attempting to teach the Iron Age about the Nuclear Age.

It certainly wasn't a closed book to the first century Judean for 2,000 years and just awaiting YouTube to figure it all out for us.

It is an Ancient Manuscript which was totally understandable by its people.
