"Taliban", "Communist", "Fascist", etc. are broad brushes, when used TIC, and the first thing that comes to mind is not usually the attrocities and genocides, at least for me. It's the heavy-handed authoritarianism, extreme control, and harsh rules and laws.

"Auschwitz" is much more specific, and can only bring up images of the horrible genocide. It was a poor choice, and NLYP finally admitted this and apologized for it.
