My concern, elder, is this:
Since the pastor who is alleged to have done this did it in public, what is the concern of steadfast with telling who it is?
It's not like "this is just between you and me", now is it?
Things done, especially in public, must hold up to scrutiny. Perhaps the cruel light needs to shine on the pastor instead of steadfast. Yet, steadfast refuses to clear the whole matter up.
From what I have read, steadfast is vehemently opposed to the alleged actions of the pastor. Is there not a Biblical mandate to expose the heretic?
And not to fellowship with such?
Confusing, to say the least.
And we all know who is NOT the author of confusion.

Brother tatum,
I know Steadfast. He is one of my dearest friends, and I would stake my life on his integrity.
I don't know who he is talking about, but if he is related to the man, or has some type of connection to him, it could create a real problem if he were to name him on an internet forum.
As for a biblical mandate for exposing the heretic, I guess I haven't read that one. Maybe you could point me to some passages that would help me there.
From reading this thread, I can conclude that for whatever reason, he feels it would be unwise for him to reveal this man's name.
Your continued pressure to take him to task on this one point leads me to believe that you question his honesty, and seem to believe his reluctance to name the man is a witness against him.
Since you do not know him, I suppose your questioning of his integrity is excusable.
But since I do, I can tell you that he doesn't lie.
