I actually was one of those people. Although I didn't do most of the things that I'm reading here. And I think that it comes from being rejected earlier in life by one or both parents. So, you have to have the attention of someone important to make you feel important and accepted.
I also agree with another post that said give the guy something to do. It might be trivial, but it just might be enough to help him. You could also have one of your young ministers go up to him right after service and start talking. You could rotate them lol. But it has to be someone that is at least on the platform some of the time, otherwise there are not important enough in his eyes.
