Need advice about latex paint

I spent 4 years in the navy.

the navy theroy is
1. if it works paint it.
2. if it is broke paint it twice.
3. if it doesnt move paint it.
4. if it does move paint it twice.
5. when the paint dries, chip the paint and start back at 1.

Ive painted everything I intend to paint.
