CJ - I am not OPII, but I do agree with much of what you stated about some of the "cons". However, the same applied to many of the "libs". I think it is very easy to become too caught up with our own passion and forget our manners/civility. I am guilty of this myself.
I would say that the tone of the forum changed, 2 or so years ago and personal attacks were ignored, to a great extent.
I believe that the "cons" may have seen that they were taking things too personally and that led to the start of their own forum.
